Do you have subsidy?
Subsidy is available to families that are approved by the government. Please reach out to us at [email protected] and we can get you information on how to go about filling out the forms to see if you qualify. We also have the Affordability Grant which is available to all families. You must pay your fees beforehand and then you will be reimbursed up to $75 per month (quarterly).
Do we have to volunteer?
We are a community preschool that does require the help of our families with children enrolled. With that being said, you do have the option to pay others to work your Duty Days and Clean and Set days. (If you are willing to take on more days and get paid please reach out to our board members and become a “Ghost Parent”.)
Why do I have to do a Bingo/Variety Show and have a Community League membership?
The community league is also run by volunteers and since we are fortunate enough to be able to use their beautiful space we are required to do volunteer hours for them.
Do we have to do fundraising?
As we are a not for profit program we use fundraising to help us supply the preschool with supplies and new toys throughout the year. The first fundraiser (chocolates) you are able to get your money back after you sell all the chocolates. The other fundraisers you can opt out of selling, but you must pay the $75 fee.
Do you accept e-transfer/credit cards?
Unfortunately we are unable to accept e-transfer and credit cards. Our board members change frequently and the safest and easiest way to collect and deposit our fees is via cheques. We are sorry for any inconvenience.
What class should I put my child in?
If your child turns 4 by December of the school year you should enroll them in the Monday, Wednesday, Friday AM class or the Monday, Wednesday, Thursday PM class, as they will be eligible to start Kindergarten the following Fall. If they turn 4 January and beyond they should be enrolled in the Tuesday/Thursday AM class or the Monday, Wednesday, Thursday PM class (the afternoon class is a 3-4 split.)
Can I enroll my child if they turn 3 during the year?
Should your child turn 3 while the school year is in progress you are welcome to enroll them, but they are unable to start until their 3rd birthday. If our class is full you will be expected to pay the monthly fees in order to hold your child’s spot, but if our class is not full we will not require payments to hold their spot.
Does my child have to be potty trained?
We do not require that your child is potty trained in order to attend our preschool. We do request that you send them to school in a clean/dry pull up with extra pull ups and wipes in their backpack.
What supplies does my child need?
We request that your child come to class with a backpack, an extra set of clothes, and a lunch kit with a small nutritious snack, a water bottle, and non-marking indoor shoes. Please ensure everything is labeled.
